This latest volume in the series of commentaries 'What the Bible Teaches' is a worthy addition to a useful and significant New Testament Commentary. As with all the author's works on the scriptures, this commentary on John's Gospel is comprehensive and clear. It begins with a brief introduction including a detailed outline of the Gospel. Each section throughout the book begins with a summary, followed by verse by verse commentary on the passage. There are expositions of the text, with careful explanation of words used throughout the Gospel. The author in a detailed way, often links topics mentioned, with other instances both in Old and New Testaments. 'This gives value to the book as an aid for bible study. The practical application of the truth of this Gospel is always made clear. We commend this commentary as a book revealing the author's insight into the scriptures of truth and as a book which must help in understanding the meaning of the truth contained in the fourth Gospel.
