Christ And You (Colossians)

The Christian finds the reason for his existence explained by Christ. He was created for the glory of Christ (1. 16). To Christ he is indebted for his redemption (1. 14). In Christ he finds his completeness (2. 10). His life is hid with Christ in God (3. 3), and the fact that Christ is in him is his hope of glory (1. 27). In Christ all fulness dwells (1. 19); in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (2. 3), and in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily – in Him resides, as in a settled and congenial home, all the fulness of the Deity, the whole glorious total of what God is, the supreme Nature in its infinite entirety (2. 9 – Moule). And the Christian is complete in Him. Christ is the vast, limitless, exhaustless reservoir of grace, and out of this infinite fulness the Christian can receive grace upon grace to meet every varied spiritual need (John 1. 16; Heb. 4. 16).
