Divine Love

The Head of all creation,
Who once this earth has trod,
Head over every nation,
As Man; in essence God.

Here, though from men’s sight hidden,
His Glory always shone,
Light shines in Him, unbidden,
The hearts of men has won.

Here all earth’s gloom dispelling,
The joy of heav’n descends,
Riches of love Christ telling,
Its wealth on us expends.

Our minds could never soar,
To heights of love divine,
Nor depths of grace explore,
Nor breadth of truth define.
