Spanish Bible School

We are thankful to the Lord for His help in the campaign of bible study which we were able to carry through in Madrid and Barcelona from September 1947 to the end of March 1948. Systematic courses of study on Galatians, Genesis and fundamental doctrines aroused great interest in two assemblies in Madrid and in three in Barcelona. Outside the great cities, classes were formed thanks to the generous co-operation of English workers and Spanish brethren, in Vigo, Valladolid and other points, where the printed material of the bible school is being used. A considerable number of isolated christians enrolled for correspondence courses. Over 200 students have enrolled up to date for the Galatians course, which has only recently been printed. Hundreds more took advantage of the systematic instruction in the word as ‘listeners’. As many as 400 were reached in any one week in the various classes run in Barcelona. On the human side, the success of the work was due to the whole-hearted cooperation of assemblies, fellow-workers and leading Spanish brethren. More courses are in preparation, and a further ‘campaign’ is planned for 1948-49 in the Lord’s will. The Lord has added very many young people to the assemblies and churches in Spain during the recent ‘difficult’ years, and the treasure must be passed on to them.
