On-line Bible, Version 2.10

On-Line Bible Foundation, 12 Birkfield Place, Carluke, ML8 4PZ, Scotland or Timnathserah Inc, 11 Homewood Street, Winterbourne, Ontario, Canada

This new version of the popular Bible software program, previously reviewed in the February 2005 issue of the magazine, is available in various versions but that reviewed here is the Classic Edition. It comes as a single CD and can be loaded easily on to most personal computers, although the non-English versions/modules are now on a separate CD.

The search and other facilities documented in the previous review have not been changed and the look and feel of the software remains the same. What is different is the range of resources that have been added.

Some of the additional Bibles include the English Revised Version, and the English Standard Version. Available as a purchasable ‘unlock’ is the Amplified Version. Other resources that have been added include commentaries such as the Expositor’s Bible, and the Ritchie Commentaries, What the Bible Teaches New Testament. This last addition is available only as an ‘unlock’. For those who already have a previous version of this program, it may well be worth visiting the organization’s web site, http://www.onlinebible.co.uk, to download these additional modules and install them with your existing software.

With increasing pressures upon all of our time, many will welcome this opportunity to access important resources in an electronic format.
