v. 4 gifts – Spirit

v. 5 Administrations – Lord

v. 6 Operations – God

v. 14–27 Dependence one upon another

v. 15, 16 Responsibility enjoined

v. 17–20 Variety expressed

v. 21–25 Unity encouraged

v. 26 Sympathy experienced

v. 28–30 Dispensing of gifts

“apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, gifts of healings, helps, governments, tongues – Note order given: “helps” before “governments” for it is better to help a man than to govern him. “Tongues” come last.

v. 31. Desire the best gifts – Love the more excellent way.

ch. 13. Description of this way

“and now abideth faith, hope, love, …

but the greatest of these is love.”
